Andepram 10 mg Tablet is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) designed to manage a range of psychiatric disorders, including depression and anxiety-related conditions. By selectively inhibiting the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT) in the brain, Andepram enhances serotonin availability, which helps improve mood, reduce anxiety, and promote emotional stability.
This medication is widely prescribed for adults experiencing depressive illness, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and social anxiety disorder. It is well tolerated, and most side effects are mild, making it a reliable option for both short-term symptom relief and long-term management.

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) & related antidepressant drugs
Andepram 10 mg is indicated for:
Depressive illness
Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Social anxiety disorder (SAD)
Andepram 10 mg works as a selective inhibitor of serotonin reuptake. By preventing serotonin from being reabsorbed into neurons, it increases serotonin availability in the synaptic cleft, which improves mood and reduces anxiety.
The drug has low or negligible affinity for other receptors, including:
5-HT1A, 5-HT2
Dopamine D1 and D2 receptors
α1-, α2-, β-adrenoceptors
Histamine H1, muscarinic cholinergic
Benzodiazepine and opioid receptors
This receptor selectivity contributes to its targeted action and generally favorable side effect profile.
Adults:
Initial dose: 10 mg once daily
If required, may increase to 20 mg after a minimum of one week
Panic disorder: Start at 5 mg daily, increase to 10 mg after 7 days; maximum 20 mg/day
Social anxiety disorder: Start at 10 mg daily, adjust after 2–4 weeks; usual dose 5–20 mg/day
Elderly patients:
Usually 10 mg once daily; lower doses may be sufficient
Administer cautiously; monitor for sensitivity
Important:
Dose adjustments should be gradual; abrupt discontinuation can cause withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, irritability, and sensory disturbances.
Avoid co-administration with MAOIs (must allow 2 weeks after stopping MAOI before starting Andepram, and vice versa)
Contraindicated with pimozide
Caution with drugs affecting serotonin levels to prevent serotonin syndrome
Hypersensitivity to Andepram 10 mg, citalopram, or any inactive ingredients
Concurrent use with MAOIs or pimozide
Most side effects are mild and transient, including:
