Recur 1 mg Tablet contains Finasteride, a well-established oral therapy used for the treatment of male pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in men. Androgenic alopecia is a common condition characterized by progressive hair thinning and hair loss, particularly at the crown and frontal scalp, largely driven by the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Recur 1 mg works by addressing the underlying hormonal cause of hair loss, helping to slow progression and promote hair retention with continued use.
Recur 1 mg is intended for adult male patients only and is not indicated for use in women or children. Consistent daily administration over several months is required to observe visible improvement, and ongoing therapy is necessary to maintain results.

Miscellaneous Agents (5α-Reductase Inhibitor)
Recur 1 mg is indicated for:
Male Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenic Alopecia):
Treatment of mild to moderate hair loss in men by reducing scalp DHT levels, thereby slowing hair thinning and promoting hair preservation.
Finasteride is a competitive and specific inhibitor of Type II 5α-reductase, an intracellular enzyme responsible for converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT plays a central role in the miniaturization of hair follicles in genetically predisposed men. By inhibiting this enzyme, Recur 1 mg significantly reduces serum and scalp DHT concentrations without affecting testosterone levels.
Finasteride has no affinity for androgen receptors and does not exhibit androgenic or antiandrogenic activity. In men with androgenic alopecia, the scalp typically contains higher levels of DHT and miniaturized hair follicles. Reduction of DHT through finasteride therapy helps counteract this process and supports healthier hair follicles.
Recur 1 mg works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT via inhibition of Type II 5α-reductase. This reduction in DHT levels helps prevent further miniaturization of hair follicles and slows the progression of hair loss, particularly in the vertex and mid-scalp regions.
The recommended dose is 1 mg once daily.
Recur 1 mg may be taken with or without food.
A minimum of three months of continuous daily use is generally required before noticeable benefits are observed.
Continued treatment is necessary to maintain hair growth benefits.
Discontinuation of therapy typically results in reversal of effects within 12 months.
No clinically significant drug interactions have been identified with finasteride.
Hypersensitivity to finasteride or any component of the formulation
Use in women and pediatric patients is contraindicated
Recur 1 mg is generally well tolerated. In clinical studies, adverse effects reported in more than 1% of patients included:
Decreased libido
Erectile dysfunction
Ejaculation disorder
Decreased volume of ejaculate
These effects are usually mild and reversible upon discontinuation of therapy.
Finasteride is contraindicated in women.
Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets due to the risk of fetal harm.
No data are available regarding use during lactation.
Caution is advised in patients with liver impairment, as finasteride is extensively metabolized in the liver.
Tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed or broken.
Store in a cool, dry place away from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
