Indications

Azithrocin Injection 500 mg/vial is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

• Community-acquired pneumonia

• Lower respiratory tract infections

• Severe upper respiratory tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Pelvic inflammatory disease caused by susceptible organisms

• Other serious systemic infections as determined by the physician

It may be used as initial intravenous therapy followed by oral azithromycin once the patient’s condition improves, ensuring continuity of treatment.

Pharmacology

Azithromycin belongs to the azalide subclass of macrolide antibiotics.
