Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Dapagliflozin Propanediol equivalent to Dapagliflozin 5 mg

Mechanism of Action

Dapagliflozin works by selectively inhibiting the SGLT2 transporter in the proximal renal tubules of the kidney. This reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion, leading to a decrease in blood glucose levels. It also contributes to mild weight reduction and blood pressure lowering due to osmotic diuresis.

Indications

Dapawin Tablet 5 mg is indicated for:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus (as monotherapy or combination therapy)
• Patients inadequately controlled with diet and exercise
• Combination therapy with metformin, insulin, or other antidiabetic agents
• Reduction of risk of hospitalization for heart failure in appropriate patients
• Support in chronic kidney disease management (as prescribed)

Dosage and Administration
