Composition

Each vial contains:

• Ceftriaxone Sodium 1 gm (sterile powder for intramuscular injection)

Indications

Eracef Injection is indicated for the treatment of:

• Lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Bone and joint infections
• Septicemia (bloodstream infections)
• Meningitis (as prescribed)
• Gonococcal infections

It is used based on bacterial sensitivity and physician evaluation.

Pharmacological Action

Ceftriaxone is a bactericidal antibiotic that acts by:

• Inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis
• Binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs)
• Disrupting cell wall formation leading to bacterial lysis and death
