Flexor 5 mg contains Cyclobenzaprine, a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant. It is primarily used as an adjunct to rest and physical therapy for the relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions. The therapeutic benefit of Flexor 5 mg is observed through reduced muscle spasm and improvement in related symptoms such as pain, tenderness, restricted movement, and limitations in daily activities.

Flexor 5 mg is indicated for:
Relief of muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions
Improvement of pain, muscle tenderness, and stiffness
Enhancement of mobility and daily functional activities when used alongside rest and physical therapy
Locally Acting Skeletal Muscle Relaxants
Cyclobenzaprine is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant that is structurally related to tricyclic antidepressants and shares some of their pharmacological properties. It exerts its effect mainly at the brain stem by reducing tonic somatic motor activity, influencing both alpha (α) and gamma (γ) motor neurons. This action leads to decreased muscle hyperactivity and relief from muscle spasm without directly affecting neuromuscular transmission or muscle function.
Adults: 5 mg three times daily. The dose may be increased to 10 mg three times daily if required.
Maximum Dose: 60 mg per day
Duration of Therapy: Treatment should not exceed 2–3 weeks
Elderly: Initiate therapy with 5 mg at a reduced dosing frequency
Pediatric: Safety and effectiveness in children below 15 years of age have not been established
Plasma concentration of cyclobenzaprine may be increased when used with cimetidine, diltiazem, disulfiram, methylphenidate, ritonavir, or verapamil. Central nervous system effects may be enhanced when taken with other CNS depressants such as sedatives, anxiolytics, opioids, antihistamines, antipsychotics, or alcohol. Concomitant use with MAO inhibitors, certain antiarrhythmics, or serotonergic agents may increase the risk of adverse reactions. Caution is advised with drugs that alter hepatic metabolism, such as carbamazepine or rifampicin.
