Gatiflox ES 0.5% is a potent fluoroquinolone antibacterial formulated for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, targeting both DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which are essential for bacterial replication and cell division. Gatiflox ES 0.5% is indicated for respiratory, urinary, skin, and sexually transmitted infections, offering broad-spectrum activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

4-Quinolone Antibacterial Agents
Gatiflox ES 0.5% inhibits bacterial DNA synthesis by:
Blocking DNA gyrase, essential for bacterial reproduction
Inhibiting topoisomerase IV, critical for bacterial cell division
This dual mechanism prevents bacterial replication and effectively treats infections caused by susceptible microorganisms.
