Glipita-M Tablet 50 mg+1000 mg is a fixed-dose oral antidiabetic combination containing Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride. It is formulated for the effective management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adult patients who require combination therapy to achieve optimal blood glucose control. This strength is particularly useful for patients who need a higher dose of metformin along with the complementary incretin-based action of sitagliptin.
Glipita-M Tablet helps control both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels when used alongside appropriate diet and regular physical activity.

DPP-4 Inhibitor + Biguanide (Antidiabetic Combination)
Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases endogenous incretin hormone levels, such as GLP-1 and GIP. These hormones enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and suppress glucagon release from alpha cells. This results in reduced hepatic glucose production and improved regulation of blood glucose levels without significant risk of hypoglycemia.
Metformin Hydrochloride is a biguanide that primarily reduces hepatic gluconeogenesis, improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, and decreases intestinal absorption of glucose. It lowers blood glucose levels without stimulating insulin secretion, thereby minimizing the risk of hypoglycemia. The combination of metformin with sitagliptin provides additive and complementary glucose-lowering effects.
Glipita-M Tablet 50 mg+1000 mg is indicated for:
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults
Patients inadequately controlled on metformin or sitagliptin monotherapy
Add-on therapy in combination with diet and exercise
The dosage should be individualized according to the patient’s glycemic status and previous treatment. Glipita-M Tablet is usually taken once or twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Treatment initiation and dose adjustments should be done under the supervision of a registered physician.
Dual mechanism of action for effective glycemic control
Suitable for patients requiring higher metformin dose
