Glymin Tablet 500 mg contains Metformin Hydrochloride. It is widely used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, either alone or in combination with other antidiabetic agents. The 500 mg strength is commonly used as a starting dose to improve tolerance.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

For oral administration.

Mechanism of Action

Metformin controls blood sugar through complementary effects:

• Reduces hepatic glucose production (suppresses gluconeogenesis)

Indications

Dosage and Administration

• Typically taken once or twice daily with meals to minimize stomach upset
• Start low (e.g., 500 mg) and titrate gradually based on response and tolerance
• Swallow whole with water; do not crush (unless advised)
• Take consistently at the same time(s) each day
