These virus strains are responsible for the majority of cervical cancer cases worldwide. The vaccine plays a crucial role in preventing cervical cancer, precancerous lesions, and other HPV-related diseases. Composition

Each 0.5 ml dose contains:

• Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Types 16 and 18 (Bivalent, recombinant, adjuvanted)

The vaccine is produced using recombinant DNA technology and includes an adjuvant to enhance immune response.

Indications

HPvax Injection is indicated for:

• Prevention of cervical cancer caused by HPV types 16 and 18
• Prevention of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN)
• Prevention of precancerous cervical lesions
• Protection against persistent HPV infection
• Routine immunization in adolescent girls and young women
• Vaccination of individuals at risk of HPV exposure

Pharmacological Action

HPvax works by:

• Stimulating the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies against HPV types 16 and 18
• Preventing initial infection of cervical epithelial cells by HPV
• Providing long-term immune memory against targeted HPV strains
• Reducing the risk of HPV-related cancers and lesions

It does not treat existing HPV infections but helps prevent future infections.

Dosage & Administration

• Administered by intramuscular injection (usually in the deltoid muscle)
• Standard vaccination schedule:
  • 0, 1, and 6 months (3-dose schedule), or
  • As per national immunization guidelines
• Must be administered by a trained healthcare professional
• Shake well before use
• Do not inject intravenously or intradermally

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

HPvax is not recommended during pregnancy. Vaccination should be postponed until after pregnancy. It may be used during breastfeeding if advised by a physician.
