Telmivas HZ Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). This fixed-dose combination provides effective blood pressure control through dual mechanisms: relaxation of blood vessels and removal of excess fluid from the body. It is commonly prescribed in patients who require stronger antihypertensive therapy than monotherapy.

Composition

Each tablet contains:

• Telmisartan 80 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Indications

Telmivas HZ Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential hypertension (moderate to severe)
• Patients not adequately controlled with single antihypertensive therapy
• Combination therapy for resistant hypertension
• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in hypertensive patients
• Management of fluid-related high blood pressure

Mechanism of Action

This combination works through two complementary actions:

• Telmisartan: An angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking vasoconstriction and reducing aldosterone secretion.
• Hydrochlorothiazide: A thiazide diuretic that increases renal excretion of sodium and water, reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure.
