Indications

Zerotil Suspension is indicated for the treatment of:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
• Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections such as sinusitis and otitis media
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Other bacterial infections as prescribed by a physician

Mechanism of Action

Cefuroxime Axetil is a prodrug that is converted into active cefuroxime after absorption in the body. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell lysis and bacterial death.
