Ace Tablet 500 mg contains Paracetamol, a trusted analgesic and antipyretic widely used for the relief of fever and mild to moderate pain. It is suitable for treating pain associated with the common cold, influenza, headache, toothache, earache, body aches, menstrual discomfort, musculoskeletal pain, postoperative recovery, and rheumatic or osteoarthritic conditions. How Ace (Paracetamol) Works

Paracetamol works by blocking pain signals at the peripheral level and reducing fever by acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center. Its analgesic and antipyretic actions are attributed to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system.
Although the exact mechanism is not fully understood, research suggests that Paracetamol:

• Inhibits COX-1, COX-2, and COX-3 enzymes in the CNS

• Raises the pain threshold

• Produces antipyresis through vasodilation and heat dissipation

• Does not provide significant peripheral anti-inflammatory effects

Dosage & Administration

(Use strictly as directed by a registered physician.)

Tablet

• Adults: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours; maximum 4 g (8 tablets/day).

• Children 6–12 years: ½–1 tablet 3–4 times daily (max 2.6 g/day for long-term use).

Extended-Release Tablet

• 12 years and above: 2 tablets every 6–8 hours; max 6 tablets/day (do not crush).

Syrup / Suspension

• Under 3 months: 10 mg/kg (5 mg/kg if jaundiced), 3–4 times daily

• 3 months–1 year: ½–1 teaspoonful, 3–4 times daily

• 1–5 years: 1–2 teaspoonfuls, 3–4 times daily

• 6–12 years: 2–4 teaspoonfuls, 3–4 times daily

• Adults: 4–8 teaspoonfuls, 3–4 times daily

Suppository

• 3–12 months: 60–120 mg, 4 times daily

• 1–5 years: 125–250 mg, 4 times daily

• 6–12 years: 250–500 mg, 4 times daily

• Adults & >12 years: 0.5–1 g, 4 times daily

Paediatric Drop

• Up to 3 months: 0.5 ml (40 mg)

• 4–11 months: 1 ml (80 mg)

• 7 months–2 years: 1.5 ml (120 mg)
  (Max 5 doses/day for up to 5 days.)

Tablet with Actizorb Technology

• Adults & ≥12 years: 1–2 tablets every 4–6 hours; max 8/day

• Children 7–11 years: ½–1 tablet every 4–6 hours; max 4/day

• Not for children under 7 years.

IV Infusion

• ≥50 kg: 1000 mg every 6 hours or 650 mg every 4 hours; max 4 g/day

• <50 kg: 15 mg/kg every 6 hours or 12.5 mg/kg every 4 hours; max 75 mg/kg/day

• Children 2–12 years: Same guideline as <50 kg dosing

Drug Interactions

• Alcohol increases hepatotoxicity risk.

• Barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, and chronic alcohol use may reduce therapeutic effectiveness.

• Anticonvulsants and oral steroids may increase metabolism, reducing drug levels.

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to Paracetamol.
