Indications

Avlosef Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis
• Lower respiratory tract infections including bronchitis and pneumonia
• Ear infections (otitis media)
• Urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis)
• Skin and soft tissue infections such as cellulitis, boils, and impetigo

Mechanism of Action

Cephradine exerts its bactericidal effect by interfering with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), preventing the formation of peptidoglycan, an essential structural component. This leads to weakening and rupture of the bacterial cell wall, ultimately causing cell death.
