Axinat Inhaler 25 mcg per puff contains Salmeterol Xinafoate, a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA) used for the maintenance treatment of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is designed to provide prolonged bronchodilation, helping patients achieve sustained symptom control, reduce nighttime awakenings, and improve overall lung function when used regularly as part of a comprehensive respiratory management plan.

Active Ingredient: Salmeterol Xinafoate
Strength: 25 mcg per puff
Dosage Form: Metered dose inhaler
Long-Acting Beta-2 Adrenergic Agonist (LABA)
Bronchodilator
Axinat Inhaler 25 mcg/puff is indicated for:
Maintenance treatment of bronchial asthma in patients requiring long-acting bronchodilator therapy
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema
Prevention of nocturnal asthma symptoms
Long-term control of bronchospasm in reversible and partially reversible airway diseases
Salmeterol Xinafoate is a selective long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It works by stimulating beta-2 receptors in the bronchial smooth muscle, leading to relaxation of the airways and sustained bronchodilation. Salmeterol has a slow onset of action but provides bronchodilatory effects for up to 12 hours, making it suitable for maintenance therapy.
By keeping the airways open for an extended period, Axinat Inhaler helps reduce airflow obstruction, improves pulmonary function, and decreases the frequency of asthma symptoms and exacerbations. Salmeterol does not possess anti-inflammatory properties and therefore should be used in combination with an inhaled corticosteroid in asthma patients.
The usual recommended dose is one to two puffs twice daily, or as prescribed by a physician.
The inhaler should be used regularly at the same times each day.
It is not intended for the relief of acute bronchospasm.
Proper inhalation technique is essential for optimal drug delivery.
Axinat Inhaler is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
Tremor
Headache
Palpitations
Muscle cramps
Throat irritation
These effects are usually mild and dose-dependent.
Should not be used as monotherapy in asthma; always use with an inhaled corticosteroid.
Not suitable for acute asthma attacks.
Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hyperthyroidism, or diabetes.
Pediatric and elderly patients should use under medical supervision.
Caution is advised when used with beta-blockers, other long-acting bronchodilators, or drugs that may affect cardiac rhythm. Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors should be monitored.
