Indications

Blocid Suspension is indicated for:

• Relief of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
• Treatment of heartburn and acid indigestion
• Management of acid regurgitation
• Relief from post-meal acidity and bloating
• Heartburn associated with pregnancy (under medical advice)

Composition

Mechanism of Action

Blocid Suspension provides relief through a dual mechanism:

• Sodium Alginate: Reacts with gastric acid to form a viscous gel or “raft” that floats on top of stomach contents, creating a protective barrier that prevents acid reflux into the esophagus
• Potassium Bicarbonate: Neutralizes excess gastric acid and produces carbon dioxide, which helps the raft to float effectively

Dosage & Administration
