Pharmacology and Mechanism of Action

Brindin Suspension works through the complementary actions of its two active ingredients.

Brinzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase II inhibitor. It reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing the formation of bicarbonate ions in the ciliary processes of the eye. This leads to reduced sodium and fluid transport, ultimately lowering aqueous humor production and intraocular pressure.

Brimonidine Tartrate is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It lowers intraocular pressure by dual mechanisms: reducing aqueous humor production and increasing uveoscleral outflow. Brimonidine has a rapid onset of action and contributes to additional pressure-lowering effects when used in combination therapy.

Together, these agents provide enhanced intraocular pressure reduction compared to monotherapy, making Brindin Suspension suitable for patients who require combination treatment.

Indications

Brindin Suspension is indicated for:

• Reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in open-angle glaucoma

• Management of ocular hypertension

• Patients inadequately controlled on single anti-glaucoma agents

Dosage and Administration

Brindin Suspension is for ophthalmic use only. The usual recommended dosage is one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, or as directed by an ophthalmologist. The bottle should be shaken well before use to ensure uniform suspension.

When using more than one ophthalmic medication, an interval of at least 5 minutes should be maintained between applications.
