Guaifenesin is an expectorant that loosens and thins mucus in the airways, promoting easier expectoration and clearing of the respiratory tract.
Dextromethorphan is a centrally acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex, providing relief from frequent, irritating cough.
Menthol provides a soothing effect on the throat and has a mild local anesthetic action, which reduces irritation and makes breathing feel easier.
This combination addresses both the mechanical obstruction caused by mucus and the discomfort caused by persistent coughing.
