Composition

Each vial contains:

Mechanism of Action

Ceftazidime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) inside the bacterial cell wall, blocking the formation of peptidoglycan cross-links. This leads to weakening of the bacterial cell wall, resulting in osmotic instability and bacterial cell death. It is particularly effective against many gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Indications

Cozid Injection 250 mg/vial is indicated for the treatment of:

• Pediatric bacterial infections requiring injectable antibiotics

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Ear, nose, and throat infections
