Dilapress Tablet 6.25 mg contains Carvedilol, a well-established antihypertensive and cardiovascular agent used in the management of high blood pressure and certain heart conditions. Carvedilol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker with additional alpha-1 blocking activity, which helps reduce blood pressure and improve heart function. Dilapress Tablet is designed to provide effective cardiovascular protection while being well tolerated for long-term use.

Each tablet contains:
Carvedilol 6.25 mg
Beta-blocker with alpha-blocking activity
Antihypertensive agent
Carvedilol works by blocking beta-1, beta-2, and alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. The blockade of beta-1 receptors reduces heart rate and myocardial contractility, leading to decreased cardiac workload and oxygen demand. Alpha-1 receptor blockade results in vasodilation, which lowers peripheral vascular resistance and contributes to blood pressure reduction.
Unlike conventional beta-blockers, carvedilol does not cause reflex tachycardia and offers added benefits due to its antioxidant properties. It improves left ventricular function and reduces mortality and hospitalization in patients with heart failure. Carvedilol is well absorbed after oral administration and undergoes extensive hepatic metabolism.
Dilapress Tablet 6.25 mg is indicated for the treatment of:
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Chronic stable angina
Mild to severe chronic heart failure (as adjunct therapy)
Left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction
Regular use helps control blood pressure, reduce the risk of cardiovascular events, and improve overall cardiac performance.

Hypertension: The usual starting dose is 6.25 mg once or twice daily, which may be adjusted according to patient response.
Heart failure: Initiated at low doses and gradually titrated under close medical supervision.
Dilapress Tablet should be taken with food to reduce the risk of orthostatic hypotension. Dosage adjustments should always be guided by a physician.
Dilapress Tablet is contraindicated in patients with:
Bronchial asthma or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Severe bradycardia
Second or third-degree heart block
Cardiogenic shock
Severe hepatic impairment
Known hypersensitivity to carvedilol
Use with caution in diabetic patients as carvedilol may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Sudden discontinuation should be avoided; the dose should be tapered gradually.
Caution is advised in patients with peripheral vascular disease or renal impairment.
Blood pressure and heart rate should be monitored regularly.
Dilapress Tablet is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Fatigue
Bradycardia
Hypotension
Gastrointestinal discomfort
Most side effects are mild and tend to resolve with continued use or dose adjustment.
Pregnancy: Use only if clearly needed and prescribed by a physician.
