• Erosive esophagitis (maintenance therapy)

• Prevention of NSAID-induced ulcers

Mechanism of Action

Esomeprazole acts by suppressing gastric acid production:

• Inhibits the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells
• Blocks the final step of acid secretion in the stomach
