Fatisol Injection 10% is a sterile intravenous fat emulsion used as a source of energy and essential fatty acids in patients who require parenteral nutrition. It provides concentrated calories in lipid form and helps prevent or treat essential fatty acid deficiency. This formulation is widely used in critically ill patients, postoperative care, and individuals who cannot receive adequate nutrition orally or enterally.

Composition

Each 100 ml contains:

• Refined soybean oil (10%) or equivalent lipid source
• Egg phospholipids (emulsifier)
• Glycerol (for isotonicity)
• Water for Injection

Indications

Fatisol Injection is indicated for:

• Parenteral nutrition support in patients unable to take oral food
• Postoperative nutritional management
• Severe malnutrition or catabolic states
• Prevention and treatment of essential fatty acid deficiency
• Long-term intravenous nutrition support (as part of TPN regimen)

It is used under strict hospital supervision.

Pharmacological Action

Intravenous fat emulsion works by:
