Composition

Each ml contains:

• Gentamicin Sulfate 0.3%
• Hydrocortisone Acetate 1%

This combination provides antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action for effective ear care.

Indications

Gentabac HC Ear Drop is indicated for:

• Otitis externa (outer ear infection)
• Bacterial ear infections with inflammation
• Ear pain, swelling, and itching due to infection
• Secondary bacterial infections in allergic ear conditions
• Post-infective inflammatory ear conditions (as prescribed)

Pharmacological Action

This combination works through dual mechanisms:

• Gentamicin: Inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to bacterial cell death
• Hydrocortisone Acetate: Reduces inflammation, swelling, redness, and itching by suppressing inflammatory mediators

Together, they control both infection and associated inflammation.

Dosage & Administration

• Instill 2–3 drops into the affected ear(s) as directed by physician
• Frequency depends on severity of infection
• Keep ear dry during treatment
• Lie on the side for a few minutes after instillation for better absorption
• Use only as prescribed
