Glipxen-M Tablet 2.5 mg+850 mg is a combination antidiabetic medicine containing Linagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride. It is used for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and single-drug therapy are not sufficient to achieve adequate blood sugar control. This dual-action formulation helps improve both fasting and post-meal glucose levels effectively.

Composition
Each film-coated tablet contains:
-
Linagliptin 2.5 mg
-
Metformin Hydrochloride 850 mg
Mechanism of Action
-
Linagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormone levels (GLP-1 and GIP), enhancing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner.
-
Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal glucose absorption, and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.
Together, they provide complementary mechanisms that result in better glycemic control with a lower risk of hypoglycemia compared to some other combinations.
