Micofun Oral Gel 2% w/w contains Miconazole Nitrate, an antifungal medicine used for the treatment of fungal infections of the mouth and throat, especially oral candidiasis (oral thrush). It helps relieve symptoms such as white patches, soreness, irritation, difficulty swallowing, and burning sensation caused by fungal overgrowth.

Miconazole Nitrate belongs to the imidazole class of antifungal agents and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This damages the fungal cell structure, preventing fungal growth and leading to elimination of the infection.

Micofun Oral Gel adheres to the affected areas inside the mouth, allowing prolonged contact and effective local antifungal action. It is suitable for adults and children as advised by a physician.

How It Works

Miconazole Nitrate blocks the production of ergosterol in fungal cells. This disrupts the fungal cell membrane, causing leakage of cellular contents and ultimately killing the fungus.

Dosage & Administration

• Use strictly as prescribed by a registered physician.
• Apply the prescribed amount directly to the affected area inside the mouth.
• Keep the gel in contact with the affected area as long as possible before swallowing.
• Usually used several times daily after meals.
• Continue treatment for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve earlier.
