Monas Chewable Tablet 4 mg contains Montelukast Sodium, a leukotriene receptor antagonist used for the prevention and long-term management of asthma and allergic rhinitis. This chewable formulation is specially designed for pediatric patients, offering a convenient and palatable option for children who have difficulty swallowing conventional tablets.
Montelukast works by blocking leukotrienes—chemical substances released during allergic reactions and inflammation. These substances cause airway narrowing, swelling, mucus production, and allergy symptoms. By inhibiting leukotriene activity, Monas helps maintain open airways, reduce inflammation, and prevent asthma symptoms.

Monas Chewable Tablet 4 mg is indicated for:
Prophylaxis and chronic treatment of asthma in children
Prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
Relief of symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis
Reduction of nighttime asthma symptoms
It is suitable for children aged 2 to 5 years, as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
Montelukast Sodium acts by:
Selectively blocking cysteinyl leukotriene receptors (CysLT1)
Preventing leukotriene-mediated airway inflammation
Reducing bronchoconstriction and mucus secretion
Improving airflow and decreasing airway hyperresponsiveness
Unlike bronchodilators, Montelukast does not provide immediate relief of acute asthma attacks. Instead, it works as a preventive therapy to control chronic symptoms and reduce the frequency of exacerbations.
