Indications

Orbidex T Eye Ointment is indicated for:

• Bacterial conjunctivitis with inflammation
• Blepharitis with secondary infection
• Post-operative ocular infections and inflammation
• Corneal infections (as prescribed)
• Mixed bacterial and inflammatory eye conditions

Mechanism of Action

• Tobramycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to bacterial cell death and effective control of susceptible organisms.
• Dexamethasone reduces inflammation by suppressing the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and cytokines, thereby reducing redness, swelling, and discomfort.

Together, they provide dual therapeutic action against infection and inflammation.

Dosage and Administration

• Apply a small amount (approximately 1 cm ribbon) into the affected eye(s) 2–3 times daily or as directed by a physician.
• Preferably use at bedtime for prolonged effect.
• Wash hands before and after application.
• Avoid touching the tube tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
• Use for the full prescribed duration only under medical supervision.
