Indications

Perscab Cream 5% w/w is indicated for:

• Scabies (Sarcoptes scabiei infestation)
• Head lice (Pediculosis capitis)
• Body lice infestation
• Itching and skin irritation caused by mites or lice

Mechanism of Action

Permethrin acts on the nervous system of parasites by disrupting sodium channel function in their nerve cell membranes. This leads to paralysis and death of mites and lice, effectively eliminating the infestation from the skin.

Dosage and Administration

• Use only as prescribed by a physician
• Apply a thin layer over the entire body from neck to toe (or as directed)
• Leave on for 8–12 hours, then wash off thoroughly
• For head lice, apply to scalp and hair as instructed
• Usually a single application is sufficient; repeat if advised by doctor
• Wash hands before and after application
