Composition and Mechanism of Action

Ceftriaxone interferes with the formation of this cell wall by binding to specific proteins known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). As a result, the bacterial cell wall becomes weak and eventually breaks down, leading to the death of the bacteria. Because of this bactericidal action, ceftriaxone is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Indications
Rofecin Injection 1 gm is prescribed for the treatment of several types of bacterial infections. It is commonly used in the management of respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis. It is also effective in treating urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and infections of the abdomen. Additionally, ceftriaxone is often used for the treatment of meningitis, septicemia (blood infection), and gonorrhea.
