Rofuclav Tablet 250 mg + 62.5 mg is a combination antibiotic containing Cefuroxime Axetil 250 mg (a second-generation cephalosporin) and Clavulanic Acid 62.5 mg (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). This combination is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections by enhancing antibacterial coverage and overcoming certain types of antibiotic resistance.

Rofuclav is indicated for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections, including:
Upper respiratory tract infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)
Ear infections (otitis media)
Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Certain bone and joint infections
It is effective against beta-lactamase–producing bacteria that may resist cefuroxime alone.
Cefuroxime is a broad-spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by:
Inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis
Causing bacterial cell death (bactericidal action)
Clavulanic acid:
Inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria
Protects cefuroxime from enzymatic degradation
Expands the antibacterial spectrum
Together, they provide enhanced efficacy against resistant bacterial strains.
Usually taken twice daily or as prescribed by a physician.
Take after food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset.
Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Complete the full prescribed course, even if symptoms improve earlier, to prevent resistance.
Broad-spectrum antibacterial coverage
Effective against beta-lactamase–producing organisms
Suitable for respiratory, urinary, and skin infections
Convenient oral dosing
Common side effects:
Nausea
Diarrhea
Abdominal pain
Headache
Rash
Less common but serious:
Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
Clostridioides difficile–associated diarrhea
Liver enzyme elevation
Severe skin reactions (rare)
Seek immediate medical attention if signs of severe allergy or persistent diarrhea occur.
