Indications

Tafovir Tablet is indicated for:

• Chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection
• HIV-1 infection (as part of combination antiretroviral therapy)

Mechanism of Action

Tenofovir Disoproxil is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI). After conversion to its active form (tenofovir diphosphate), it inhibits viral reverse transcriptase enzyme, preventing viral DNA synthesis. This results in suppression of viral replication, reduction in viral load, and improved immune system function.
