Tofen Eye Drop 0.03% contains Ketotifen Fumarate, a potent antiallergic agent with dual action. It acts as a non-competitive histamine (H1) receptor antagonist and a mast cell stabilizer. By blocking H1 receptors, Ketotifen reduces the effects of histamine released during allergic reactions, thereby alleviating itching and redness.
In addition, Ketotifen inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators such as histamine, leukotrienes, and prostaglandins from mast cells involved in type I hypersensitivity reactions. It also suppresses eosinophil activation and chemotaxis and inhibits platelet-activating factor (PAF). Through these mechanisms, Tofen Eye Drop provides both immediate symptomatic relief and long-term control of allergic inflammation in the eye.

Tofen Eye Drop is generally well tolerated. Mild and transient side effects may include:
Eye irritation or burning sensation after instillation
Mild conjunctival redness
Dry eyes
Temporary blurred vision
These effects usually resolve spontaneously and do not require discontinuation of therapy.
There is limited data regarding the use of ophthalmic Ketotifen during pregnancy and lactation. Although systemic absorption is minimal, Tofen Eye Drop should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
For ophthalmic use only; not for injection or oral use.
Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery immediately after instillation if temporary blurred vision occurs.
Long-term use should be under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
If signs of eye infection, severe pain, or vision changes occur, treatment should be discontinued and medical advice sought.
Overdose with Tofen Eye Drop is unlikely due to its topical use. Accidental oral ingestion is not expected to cause serious effects but should be managed symptomatically if necessary.
Store below 30°C, protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of the reach of children.
