Turbocef 1.5 gm/vial is a parenteral broad-spectrum antibiotic containing Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin. It is widely used for the treatment of a variety of mild to severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including β-lactamase–producing strains. Its strong bactericidal action and good stability against bacterial β-lactamase make it an effective choice in both community-acquired and hospital-based infections.

Surgical prophylaxis
Meningitis and severe systemic infections (as clinically indicated)
Cefuroxime is a well-established antibacterial agent with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Cefuroxime demonstrates excellent resistance to β-lactamase enzymes, making it effective against many ampicillin- and amoxicillin-resistant organisms.
Adults (Parenteral):
Standard dose: 750 mg IM or IV three times daily
Severe infections: Up to 1.5 gm IV three times daily (may be increased to four times daily if required)
Meningitis: 3 gm IV three times daily
Gonorrhoea: 1.5 gm IM as a single dose
Bone and joint infections: 1.5 gm IV four times daily
Paediatric Patients:
Children (above 3 months): 30–100 mg/kg/day in 3–4 divided doses
Neonates: 30–100 mg/kg/day in 2–3 divided doses
Surgical Prophylaxis:
