Urilax Tablet 200 mg is a specialized medication designed to provide symptomatic relief in various urinary tract conditions. It is particularly effective for patients experiencing dysuria (painful urination), urgency, nocturia (frequent nighttime urination), suprapubic pain, urinary frequency, and incontinence associated with cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, or urethrocystitis.

Urilax 200 mg is indicated for:
Relief of painful, urgent, or frequent urination
Reducing episodes of urge incontinence
Management of urinary symptoms in cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, and urethrocystitis
Urilax Tablet 200 mg contains flavoxate, which works as a direct antagonist at muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in cholinergically innervated organs. Its anticholinergic-parasympatholytic action:
Reduces bladder smooth muscle tone
Decreases the number of voids and urge incontinence episodes
Lowers the severity of urgency
Improves urinary retention and increases the volume per void
Adults and children over 12 years: 100–200 mg three times daily. Dose may be reduced as symptoms improve.
Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in children below 12 years have not been established.
Do not use Urilax 200 mg if the patient has:
Pyloric or duodenal obstruction
Obstructive intestinal lesions or ileus
Achalasia
Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
Obstructive uropathies of the lower urinary tract
Common and serious side effects may include:
Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth
CNS: Vertigo, headache, drowsiness, mental confusion (especially in the elderly), nervousness
Hematologic: Reversible leukopenia
Cardiovascular: Tachycardia, palpitations
Allergic: Urticaria, dermatoses, eosinophilia, hyperpyrexia
Ophthalmic: Increased ocular tension, blurred vision, disturbances in eye accommodation
Use cautiously in patients with suspected glaucoma
Monitor elderly patients closely due to increased risk of confusion or CNS effects
Pregnancy: Category B. Use only if clearly needed.
Nursing Mothers: Unknown if excreted in breast milk; exercise caution when administering to nursing women.
Store at room temperature (20–25°C), away from moisture and light.
