Indications

Abaclor Suspension is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including:

• Respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
• Ear infections (otitis media), especially in children
• Throat infections including pharyngitis and tonsillitis
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

This antibiotic is not effective against viral infections like colds or influenza.

Mechanism of Action

Cefaclor Monohydrate works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) within the bacterial cell wall, preventing the formation of peptidoglycan, which is essential for maintaining cell wall integrity.
