Topical Anorectal Preparation / Local Anesthetic + Corticosteroid + Antibiotic + Venotonic
Anustat Ointment is indicated for:
Symptomatic relief of pain, itching, and burning associated with hemorrhoids
Inflammation and swelling of the anal region
Secondary bacterial infection of the anorectal area
Supportive therapy in anal fissures and minor anorectal trauma
Improvement of venous tone and microcirculation in the anorectal region
Cinchocaine:
Cinchocaine is a local anesthetic that temporarily blocks nerve conduction, providing rapid relief from pain and discomfort in the anal region. Its action reduces irritation, burning, and itching, improving patient comfort.
Hydrocortisone:
Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that exhibits anti-inflammatory and antipruritic activity. It reduces edema, redness, and itching by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators from mast cells and other inflammatory cells.
Neomycin:
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of gram-negative bacteria. It helps prevent or treat secondary bacterial infections in the anorectal area, which can complicate hemorrhoids or fissures.
Esculin:
Esculin is a venotonic and vasoprotective agent derived from the horse chestnut plant. It strengthens venous walls, improves microcirculation, and reduces capillary permeability, contributing to decreased swelling and inflammation in hemorrhoidal tissues.
The combination of these four components allows Anustat to target multiple pathological processes simultaneously, providing pain relief, anti-inflammatory effects, antimicrobial protection, and improved venous function.
Apply a thin layer of ointment to the affected area 2–3 times daily, preferably after bowel movements and after cleaning the anal region.
Gently massage the ointment into the skin to enhance absorption.
Use for the duration recommended by a physician, usually until symptoms improve (typically 7–14 days).
Wash hands before and after application to avoid contamination or accidental ingestion.
Anustat Ointment should not be used in:
Patients with hypersensitivity to cinchocaine, hydrocortisone, neomycin, esculin, or any other excipients
Individuals with viral, fungal, or tuberculosis infections of the anal region unless directed by a physician
Severe systemic infections
Anustat Ointment is generally well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
Local irritation, burning, or stinging at the site of application
Allergic reactions such as rash, redness, or itching
Rarely, prolonged use may cause skin thinning or secondary infections due to corticosteroid component
Avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
Use under medical supervision in patients with diabetes, immune compromise, or chronic skin conditions.
Prolonged or excessive use of topical corticosteroids may lead to systemic absorption and side effects.
Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
