Dilapress Tablet 12.5 mg contains Carvedilol, a widely used cardiovascular medicine indicated for the management of hypertension and various heart-related disorders. Carvedilol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic blocker with additional alpha-1 blocking activity, providing effective blood pressure control along with cardioprotective benefits. Dilapress Tablet 12.5 mg is suitable for patients who require a higher maintenance dose for optimal therapeutic response.

Each tablet contains:
Carvedilol 12.5 mg
Beta-blocker with alpha-1 blocking activity
Antihypertensive and heart failure management agent
Carvedilol exerts its therapeutic action by blocking beta-1, beta-2, and alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. Beta-1 receptor blockade leads to a reduction in heart rate and myocardial contractility, thereby decreasing cardiac workload and oxygen demand. Alpha-1 receptor blockade causes peripheral vasodilation, resulting in reduced systemic vascular resistance and lower blood pressure.
In addition to its receptor-blocking properties, carvedilol possesses antioxidant effects that help protect myocardial cells from oxidative stress. It improves left ventricular ejection fraction and reduces morbidity and mortality in patients with chronic heart failure. After oral administration, carvedilol is well absorbed and extensively metabolized in the liver.

Hypertension
Chronic stable angina pectoris
Mild to severe chronic heart failure (as adjunct therapy)
Left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction
Consistent use helps reduce cardiovascular complications and improves long-term cardiac outcomes.
Hypertension: The usual dose is 12.5 mg once or twice daily, depending on patient response and clinical condition.
Heart failure: Treatment is initiated at lower doses and gradually increased to 12.5 mg under strict medical supervision.
The tablet should be taken with food to minimize the risk of postural hypotension. Dose adjustments should be made by a healthcare professional.
Dilapress Tablet 12.5 mg is contraindicated in patients with:
Bronchial asthma or severe obstructive airway disease
Severe bradycardia
Second or third-degree atrioventricular block
Cardiogenic shock
Severe hepatic impairment
Known hypersensitivity to carvedilol
Caution is required in diabetic patients as carvedilol may mask hypoglycemic symptoms.
Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided; doses must be tapered gradually.
Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, peripheral vascular disease, or thyroid disorders.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is recommended.
Dilapress Tablet is generally well tolerated. Reported side effects may include:
Dizziness
Fatigue
Hypotension
Bradycardia
