Enalapril is a prodrug that is converted in the body to its active form, enalaprilat. Angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor and also stimulates aldosterone secretion, leading to increased blood pressure. Indications

Enaril Tablet 5 mg is indicated for the treatment of:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Symptomatic heart failure

• Asymptomatic left ventricular dysfunction

• Prevention of progression of heart failure

• Reduction of cardiovascular risk in appropriate patients

It may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents such as diuretics or calcium channel blockers.
