Kilbac 125 mg/5 ml is an oral antibiotic suspension containing Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin. It is widely used for the treatment of a broad range of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Cefuroxime is known for its strong bactericidal activity and stability against β-lactamase–producing bacteria, making it effective where resistance to older antibiotics may exist. This formulation is particularly suitable for pediatric patients and individuals who prefer liquid dosage forms.

Pharmacology

Cefuroxime is a well-established antibacterial agent with broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. Cefuroxime demonstrates excellent stability against bacterial β-lactamase enzymes and remains active against many ampicillin- and amoxicillin-resistant strains.
