Fluoroquinolone Antibiotic (Ophthalmic / Otic Preparation)
Levofloxacin, the active ingredient, is a third-generation fluoroquinolone that acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair, and their inhibition results in bactericidal activity.
Levoxin TS Eye Drop exhibits:
Rapid penetration into ocular tissues
Activity against common ocular pathogens such as:
Staphylococcus aureus
Staphylococcus epidermidis
Streptococcus pneumoniae
Haemophilus influenzae
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Its high potency makes it effective in treating both acute and chronic bacterial infections of the eye and ear.
Levoxin TS Eye Drop 1.50% is indicated for:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (including cases caused by S. aureus, S. epidermidis, S. pneumoniae)
Bacterial keratitis
Blepharitis and other eyelid infections
