Oseflu 75 mg contains Oseltamivir Phosphate, an oral antiviral medication used for the treatment and prevention of influenza (flu) caused by influenza virus types A and B. It is effective in reducing the severity and duration of flu symptoms when started early and also plays a vital role in preventing influenza in individuals who have been exposed to infected persons. Oseflu 75 mg is widely used in both community and clinical settings during influenza outbreaks.

Active ingredient: Oseltamivir Phosphate 75 mg
Dosage form: Capsule
Respiratory antiviral agent
Influenza neuraminidase inhibitor
Oseltamivir is a prodrug that is converted in the body to its active metabolite, oseltamivir carboxylate. This active form inhibits neuraminidase (sialidase), an enzyme found on the surface of influenza viruses. Neuraminidase is essential for viral replication and the release of newly formed viruses from infected host cells. By inhibiting this enzyme, Oseflu 75 mg prevents the spread of the virus within the respiratory tract, thereby limiting disease progression and reducing infectivity.
Oseflu 75 mg is indicated for:
Treatment of influenza in adults and children over one year of age when influenza virus is circulating in the community
Prevention (prophylaxis) of influenza in adults and adolescents aged 13 years and older who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with influenza
Prophylaxis during community outbreaks of influenza under medical advice
Oseflu 75 mg may be taken with or without food; however, taking it with meals may improve gastrointestinal tolerability.
Treatment of influenza:
Adults and adolescents (13 years and older): 75 mg twice daily for 5 days
Treatment should ideally begin within 48 hours of symptom onset
Prophylaxis of influenza:
Following close contact with an infected individual: 75 mg once daily for at least 7 days
During community outbreaks: 75 mg once daily for up to 6 weeks, with protection lasting as long as therapy continues
For patients who have difficulty swallowing, the capsule may be opened and mixed with sweetened food products such as chocolate syrup, sweetened condensed milk, apple sauce, or yogurt. The mixture should be swallowed immediately after preparation.
