Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:

• Tinidazole 1 gm

Indications

T-zol Tablet is indicated for:

• Amoebiasis (intestinal and liver infections)
• Giardiasis
• Trichomoniasis infections
• Bacterial vaginosis
• Anaerobic bacterial infections (abdominal, dental, and pelvic infections)
• Mixed protozoal and bacterial infections

Mechanism of Action

Tinidazole works by entering susceptible protozoal and anaerobic bacterial cells and disrupting their DNA structure. This prevents nucleic acid synthesis, leading to inhibition of growth and eventual death of the microorganisms. It effectively clears infection and reduces associated symptoms such as diarrhea, discharge, and abdominal pain.

Dosage & Administration

• Dosage should be prescribed by a physician based on infection severity
• Usually taken once daily or as directed
• Should be taken with or after food to reduce gastric discomfort
• Swallow whole with water
• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early
• Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48–72 hours after completion

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol due to risk of severe nausea, vomiting, and flushing
• Use cautiously in patients with liver disease
• Not recommended during early pregnancy unless necessary
• May cause dizziness or drowsiness; caution when driving
