Ubilon Tablet 2.5 mg contains Tibolone, a synthetic steroid used in postmenopausal women to relieve menopausal symptoms and to help prevent osteoporosis in those at high risk of fractures who cannot use other osteoporosis treatments. Tibolone has estrogenic, progestagenic, and androgenic properties, making it effective in managing a wide range of menopausal concerns.
Treatment of symptoms associated with natural or surgical menopause in postmenopausal women
Prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at high risk of fractures who are unable to take other osteoporosis-preventive medicines
Tibolone is rapidly metabolized after oral administration into three active metabolites. Two metabolites (3α-OH and 3β-OH) exert predominantly estrogenic effects, while the δ4-isomer and the parent compound have progestagenic and androgenic activity.
Ubilon compensates for reduced estrogen levels in postmenopausal women, helping to alleviate hot flushes, vaginal dryness, and vaginal atrophy. It also prevents bone loss following menopause or ovariectomy and may have beneficial effects on mood and libido.
