Indications

Zerotil Tablet is indicated for the treatment of:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis)
• Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections such as sinusitis and otitis media
• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Gonorrhea (as prescribed by a physician)

Mechanism of Action

Cefuroxime Axetil is a prodrug of cefuroxime. After absorption, it is converted into active cefuroxime, which works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. This weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell rupture and death of the bacteria. It is bactericidal in nature and effective against a broad range of susceptible organisms.
