A-Fenac Tablet 25 mg contains Diclofenac Sodium, a well-established nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic properties. It is effective in relieving mild to moderate pain and reducing inflammation in a wide range of acute and chronic conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system. The 25 mg strength is particularly suitable for initial therapy, mild pain, or patients who require lower doses.

Diclofenac Sodium works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. Prostaglandins play a key role in mediating pain, inflammation, and fever. By reducing prostaglandin production, diclofenac effectively decreases inflammation, alleviates pain, and lowers fever.
After oral administration, diclofenac is rapidly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. It undergoes first-pass metabolism in the liver and is widely distributed to body tissues, particularly inflamed areas. Diclofenac is extensively bound to plasma proteins and is eliminated through renal and biliary pathways.
A-Fenac Tablet 25 mg reduces pain and inflammation by blocking prostaglandin synthesis at the site of injury and inflammation. This action leads to decreased swelling, stiffness, and discomfort, allowing improved joint movement and functional recovery.
Dosage should be individualized based on patient condition and response:
Adults: 25–50 mg taken two to three times daily
Elderly patients: Use the lowest effective dose
A-Fenac Tablet should be taken after meals to reduce gastrointestinal irritation. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary.
Diclofenac may interact with other NSAIDs, anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, corticosteroids, antihypertensive drugs, and diuretics. Concomitant use may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding or renal impairment. Medical supervision is advised when used with other medications.
A-Fenac Tablet 25 mg is contraindicated in patients with:
Known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs
Active or history of peptic ulcer disease
Severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac impairment
History of NSAID-induced asthma or allergic reactions
A-Fenac Tablet is generally well tolerated at low doses. Possible side effects include:
Gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, or heartburn
Headache or dizziness
Skin rash (rare)
Elevated liver enzymes with prolonged use
Most side effects are dose-related and reversible.
