Indications

Aciphin Injection 1 gm is indicated for:

• Severe respiratory tract infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis
• Complicated and uncomplicated urinary tract infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Bone and joint infections, including osteomyelitis
• Meningitis caused by susceptible bacteria
• Septicemia and other systemic bacterial infections
• Sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea caused by susceptible organisms

Mechanism of Action

Ceftriaxone is a bactericidal antibiotic that:

• Binds to penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cell walls
• Inhibits cell wall synthesis, causing bacterial cell lysis and death
• Provides broad-spectrum activity against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria

This results in rapid clearance of pathogens and effective infection management.

Dosage and Administration

• Adults: Typically 1–2 g daily depending on the severity and type of infection; may be administered as a single daily dose or divided doses.
