Lefoam Pediatric Drop 67 mg/ml contains Simethicone, an antiflatulent agent widely used to relieve symptoms associated with excess gas in the gastrointestinal tract of infants and children. It is especially effective in managing infantile colic, bloating, abdominal discomfort, and gas-related crying, which are common issues during early childhood. Lefoam Pediatric Drop is gentle, non-systemic, and well tolerated, making it suitable for routine pediatric use.

Antiflatulent / Gastrointestinal Agent
Simethicone is a physiologically inert, non-absorbable compound that works locally within the gastrointestinal tract. It reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles trapped in the stomach and intestines, causing them to coalesce into larger bubbles that can be expelled more easily through belching or flatulence.
Unlike other gastrointestinal medications, Simethicone does not alter gastric acid secretion, gut motility, or nutrient absorption. Since it is not absorbed into the bloodstream, it does not exert systemic effects and is excreted unchanged in the feces. This local mechanism of action ensures a high safety margin, particularly important in pediatric and infant populations.
Lefoam Pediatric Drop 67 mg/ml is indicated for the relief of:
Infantile colic
Excessive gas accumulation in infants and children
Abdominal bloating and distension
Gas-related discomfort following feeding
Postoperative gas retention (as advised by a physician)
It may also be used as an adjunct to reduce foaming during diagnostic gastrointestinal procedures.
Infants:
20 mg (approximately 0.3 ml) up to 4 times daily, preferably after meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a physician
Children:
Dose may be adjusted based on age and severity of symptoms, as advised by a healthcare professional
The drops can be administered directly into the mouth or mixed with water, milk, or infant formula. Shake well before use.
Known hypersensitivity to Simethicone or any component of the formulation
Lefoam Pediatric Drop is generally very well tolerated. Due to its non-absorbable nature, side effects are rare.
Occasionally reported effects include:
Mild gastrointestinal disturbances
Nausea or loose stools (very rare)
No serious adverse reactions have been commonly associated with Simethicone use.
If symptoms persist or worsen, medical advice should be sought
Not effective for treating pain caused by conditions other than gas accumulation
Use under medical supervision in infants with persistent or unexplained abdominal symptoms
Simethicone does not interfere with the absorption or action of other medications and has no clinically significant drug interactions.

Although Lefoam Pediatric Drop is intended for pediatric use, Simethicone is considered safe during pregnancy and lactation due to its lack of systemic absorption.
Pediatric Use: Safe for infants and children when used at recommended doses
Geriatric Use: Can be used safely if required
Overdose is unlikely due to the non-toxic and non-absorbable nature of Simethicone. Supportive care is sufficient if excessive amounts are administered.
Store below 30°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use beyond the expiry date.
Lefoam Pediatric Drop works by breaking down gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract, allowing easier elimination of gas and rapid relief from bloating, pressure, and discomfort without affecting normal digestive processes.
