Composition

Each gram contains:

Indications

Tacroderm Ointment is indicated for:

• Moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)
• Steroid-resistant or steroid-sensitive eczema
• Facial and intertriginous (skin fold) dermatitis
• Chronic inflammatory skin conditions
• Maintenance therapy to prevent flare-ups of eczema

Mechanism of Action

Tacrolimus is a calcineurin inhibitor that suppresses T-cell activation in the skin. By blocking the release of inflammatory cytokines, it reduces immune-mediated skin inflammation. This helps relieve itching, redness, and swelling while restoring skin barrier function without causing skin thinning like corticosteroids.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily or as directed by a physician
• Use only on affected skin surfaces
• Avoid covering with airtight dressings unless advised
• Wash hands before and after application
• Continue use as prescribed, even after symptom improvement for maintenance therapy

Precautions

• For external use only
• Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth
• Do not use on infected skin unless directed by a physician
• Avoid excessive sun exposure or use sunscreen on treated areas
• Not recommended for long-term continuous unsupervised use
• Use cautiously in children and immunocompromised patients
