Each Cavapro Tablet contains Irbesartan 150 mg as its active ingredient. Irbesartan selectively blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten and narrow. When angiotensin II is blocked, the blood vessels remain relaxed and widened, resulting in lower blood pressure.

Indications

Cavapro 150 mg is mainly prescribed for:

1. Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):
   It helps lower elevated blood pressure, reducing the risk of serious complications such as heart attack, stroke, and heart failure.

2. Diabetic Nephropathy:
   It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension to slow the progression of kidney damage, especially in those with protein in the urine.

How It Works

Irbesartan blocks the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors found in blood vessels and adrenal glands. Normally, angiotensin II causes blood vessels to constrict and stimulates the release of aldosterone, which leads to sodium and water retention. By blocking this action, Cavapro:
