Indications

Traxef Injection is indicated for:

• Lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)
• Urinary tract infections (complicated and uncomplicated)
• Skin and soft tissue infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Septicemia (blood infections)
• Meningitis
• Bone and joint infections
• Gonorrhea and other susceptible bacterial infections

Mechanism of Action

Ceftriaxone works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis through binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This leads to:

• Disruption of bacterial cell wall formation
• Weakening of bacterial structure
• Cell lysis and death of the bacteria

This results in effective elimination of susceptible pathogens.

Dosage and Administration

• Administered intravenously (IV) or intramuscularly (IM) under medical supervision
• Usual adult dose is 1–2 g once daily, depending on infection severity
• Severe infections may require higher or divided doses as prescribed
• Must be properly reconstituted before administration
